Terms and conditions:
Employment of a foreign employee in Latvia under Payroll programme is possible if they have:

  • more than 3 years work experience, or
  • professional education or university degree.

Foreigners should get a monthly salary not less than 1373 EUR before taxes or 941 EUR net plus 755 EUR taxes. There is no need for spouses to receive a salary.

Employment experience has to be documented. You can provide:

  • An apostilled diploma + an appendix with grades,
  • A statement from the workplace stating the name, registration number, legal address of the employer, employment period, job title
    or specialization and the key responsibilities of the position,

Latvian Temporary residence permit benefits:

The steps to obtain Latvian residence permit under the Payroll program:

1. Company registration procedure in Latvia (7 business days)

We undertake translation and preparation of all required documents into Latvian and their sending to you by e-mail for signature at the notary’s office. We assist in opening a company bank account in one of the associated banks, and with VAT receiving.

Note:

  • The company name must contain the management form: SIA,
  • Have clearly stated business activities.

2. Job vacancy posting at the Public Employment Service and call-up (15 working days)

We post the job vacancy for employee search on behalf of the company as well as submit the call-up at the Migration Service of Latvia. This procedure takes on average 15 working days. Once this period is expired we apply for your residence permit in Latvia.

3. Residence permit application procedure (from 7 days to 1 month).

You can apply for residence permit in two ways:

  • Through the Latvian Embassy or Consulate in the country of the applicant’s citizenship or permanent residence. Then the documents are sent to the Migration Service of Latvia.
  • Through the Migration Service of Latvia by post if the applicant when submitting the documents is in a Schengen area country.

4. Make an appointment at the Migration Service of Latvia (PMLP).

Once you have received a favorable decision, you have three months to personally collect your ID card. We will make an appointment at the PMLP for a convenient date for you.

5. A visit to the Migration Service.

We will prepare a list of necessary documents, help with obtaining insurance policy, paying state duties as well in getting the owner’s consent to declaration of residence.

6. Employee hiring.

Once you receive the residence permit (ID card) we will assist you with the onboarding of foreign employees. Thereafter we provide services for bookkeeping and other operational matters.

Duration:
The whole procedure takes on average 30 days to 4 months.

List of required documents:

  • Application form for residence permit (we fill it according to the information provided by the applicant) and send it by email,
  • Internal and foreign passports (of applicant as well as family members in case of joint submission),
    1 3*4 cm photo,
  • Criminal record certificate,
  • Approved job offer from Latvian employer (done by us),
  • Employment contract with Latvian company (we prepare it for you),
  • Bank account statement* (7440 EUR for 1 year for spouse and 2232 EUR for 1 child),
  • Annual health and life insurance policies (prepared by us).

Note: You need to thoroughly plan your business in advance (draft contracts on goods or services purchase and sale, contract on premises lease in Latvia or contract with the company that will provide logistics services, the company’s web-site, detailed business description).
